South African FM meets Larijani

TEHRAN, Aug. (MNA) -- Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stated on Thursday that Iran is determined to expand ties with South Africa.
“Iran is determined to expand and boost ties with African states especially South Africa,” Larijani told South African Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who was here to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement conference.Larijani went on to say that there is a wealth of capacities to improve ties.
Dlamini-Zuma, for her part, said, “There is no obstacle to expanding the friendly relations with Iran.”
She enumerated energy, housing, banking, health and industry as the potential fields for future cooperation.
Elsewhere in her remarks, Dlamini-Zuma noted South Africa backs Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities and “There is no reason to pressure Iran.”
